You've heard about "Agile". Perhaps you've experimented. But how do you know if this new type of methodology is right for your team?
By the end of this high-energy, interactive workshop you'll be in a strong position to evaluate agile methodologies for your organisation.
We'll start by discussing the most common challenges to software development projects and how these map to the Agile Manifesto: a new way of thinking, as well as a new way of managing projects.
Then we'll show you a few of the methodologies that have come from this new idea. In small groups, we'll do a sample project using Scrum, so you can experience how it works firsthand. We'll debrief with a discussion of things that worked better, worse, or just differently than the 'sequential' methodology you may be used to.
Using a number of sample projects, we'll show how each of the agile practices reinforces the others, and a few risks and contra-indicators to watch out for.
We'll wrap up with a summary of our real-world experiences in switching to and using an agile process, with plenty of time for questions and discussion.
